The Houston Museum of Natural Science tops the chart for museums in this vast area known as the museum district. You would certainly love the natural and exotic displays around this museum. From dinosaur fossils to different natural gems, from a butterfly center to the planetarium, you are going to enjoy every bit of this place. You should schedule enough time to make the most of your visit to this fascinating museum. There is truly something for everyone to enjoy at the Houston Museum of Natural Science.

SLOW RIVER WATERWAY

You can’t think about anything else before you visit the greatest attraction – The Buffalo Bayou in Houston. Also known as the "Mother Bayou," it’s a long waterway which looks and feels especially phenomenal in the evening. You can participate in a tour on a boat and visit the Memorial Park. Moreover, you can enjoy a canoe ride on the slow moving river. It would take you around 3 hours to half a day to take a voyage through the Bayou.

JOHNSON SPACE CENTER

I don’t know if you watched the movie "Apollo 13." If you have then, you have heard one of the most familiar expressions of all time in Hollywood. "Houston, we have a problem." The space explosion, astronauts and NASA Mission Control, it all got linked into a single point of NASA space center. In 1973, it was renamed after Texas President Lyndon Johnson. Here, you can discover many space-related issues and human advancement in this field. You can have chats with astronauts, ask queries and maybe even have lunch with them. This humongous space center covers around 183,000 sqft.

THE GALLERIA

Even if you don’t want to buy something, I would recommend a visit to The Galleria as a first rate shopping experience. I mean how many times in your life would you come across a 2.4 million sqft shopping mall, right? You will have access to all sorts of retail stores from super expensive brands to medium and budget-friendly brands. Furthermore, you will find a gigantic ice skating ring right in the middle of the mall.

HOUSTON ZOO

You should plan to stay longer in the museum district since the next destination is going to be The Houston Zoo. With more than 6000 animals, this zoo is a great place for any age group, in particular for the kids. There are different segments in the zoo like a water park, a theater, children’s zoo, etc. You can feed different animals, such as Giraffes, and Monkeys. You can learn a lot of things and have a lot of fun if you visit this place with your family.
